Besides significant mainstream radio exposure, their self-titled first album The Weave attracted the attention of music critics in the UK and the U.S.A. with W. Royal Stokes from Downbeat magazine listing the album in his ‘most notable releases of 2014’. With sell-out shows in prestigious venues such as Ronnie Scott’s and The London Jazz Festival the inception of the group’s most recent album Knowledge Porridge (2016) affirmed the originality of band leader Martin Smith’s compositions and arrangements, which skilfully combine a strong melody-led approach with improvisation of the most joyful kind. An energy-packed sextet with direct wire to the audience, best experienced live!
'This is the band to look out for - great things to come! Rarely is a whole room enraptured by music they've heard in the main for the first time’ Paul Pace - Promoter at Ronnie Scott’s
'An unqualified knockout! Exceedingly refreshing, full of musical joy, Liverpudlian wit and striking musicianship.' Martin Powell – Jazzscene
